Warning
Scraping or sanding previously painted surfaces may release hazardous dust or fumes. Take appropriate protective measures.
Surface Preparation & Application
Appropriate and good surface preparation significantly increases the topcoat life and durability. Treat efflorescence or mould with bleach before application. Engage skilled/experienced individuals for the application.
New or Bare Surfaces
- Cure new concrete/mortar for 8-12 weeks. Ensure the surface is dry, clean, and free from contaminants.
- Remove dirt, grease, and wax using abrasive paper.
- Apply one coat of Pro Plaster Primer and 2-3 coats of Pro Wall Skim for extra smoothness.
- Allow the surface to dry completely, scuff with abrasive paper, and dust off.
- Apply one coat of Pro Plaster Primer over Pro Wall Skim before applying Pro Top Coats.
Previously Painted Sound Surfaces
- Remove loosely adherent or defective paint.
- Spot prime with Pro Plaster Primer and fill imperfections with Pro Wall Skim.
- Allow the surface to dry, scuff, and dust off.
Powdery, Cracked, and Defective Surfaces
- Repair defects and fill large cracks with sand-cement mix.
- Remove dirt, grease, and defective material using a stiff brush or abrasive paper.
- Treat as described above for new surfaces.
Finishing
- Apply 2-3 coats of Pro Paints Top Coats.
- Ensure 1-2 hours of drying between successive coats.
- Follow thinning ratios and stir thoroughly before use.
