Surface Preparation and Application:
Appropriate surface preparation significantly increases topcoat life and durability. Efflorescence or mold must be treated before paint application. Deploy skilled individuals for paint application.
1. New or Bare Surfaces:
- Allow new concrete, mortar, or cement render to cure for 8–12 weeks.
- Ensure the surface is dry, clean, and free from contamination.
- Remove dirt, grease, and wax by rubbing down with abrasive paper.
- Apply one coat of Pro Plaster Primer and two coats of Pro Wall Skim. For extra smoothness, apply a third coat of Pro Wall Skim.
- Allow the surface to dry completely, scuff with abrasive paper, and dust off.
- Apply 2-3 coats of Pro Mica Guard.
2. Previously Painted Surfaces:
- Remove all loosely adherent and defective paint using abrasive paper or a stiff brush.
- Spot prime with Pro Plaster Primer and fill imperfections with Pro Wall Skim.
- Allow the surface to dry completely. Scuff with abrasive paper and dust off.
3. Powdery, Cracked, or Defective Surfaces:
- Make good minor defects. Fill large holes and cracks with a sand and cement mixture.
- Clean and dry the surface thoroughly. Follow the same steps as for new or bare surfaces.
Finishing:
- After surface preparation, apply 2-3 coats of Pro Mica Guard. Ensure 1-2 hours of drying between coats.
- Stir thoroughly before use.
